Adepeju Olaide Oti, Ph.D. is the founder Global Youth Leadership & Girl-child Foundation (GYLGF), one of Nigeria’s leading nonprofit organizations, the CEO Leading Edge Global Resources (LEGR) a recruiting and training company servicing job seekers and meeting staffing and training needs of organizations and individuals. She has over 20 years working experience in management, teaching in schools and training with local and international NGOs, a consultant to the World Bank Fadama II Project.
Adepeju started her career in Elf Nigeria and Bouygues Nigeria Ltd as Assistant Public Relations Officer and Bilingual Secretary between 1991 and 1994 respectively. She has taught at the 3 tiers of education and she still teaches as a Lecturer at Lead City University, Ibadan. Prior to her appointment in January 2013, she had worked as a Volunteer Teaching Assistant at the Department of Teacher Education University of Ibadan 2005-2011.
As a way of adding value to society, she has been organising FREE leadership, management, soft skills and empowerment training workshops and seminars for over 800 youths in Ibadan and its environs (especially unemployed graduates) since 2007. Her organisation offers training services to staff of both local and international organizations to achieve high potentials for optimum performance.
Adepeju is a Certified Kingian Nonviolence Conflict Reconciliation Trainer from the prestigious Center for Nonviolence and Peace Studies, University of Rhode Island, Providence, USA.
In recognition of her contribution to the empowerment of youths and the girl-child, she was nominated for the WISE Women Awards 2014 by Wisdom for Women Initiative (UK).
Dr. Adepeju Oti has published several scholarly articles in reputable national and international journals, as well as Chapters in books. She has delivered papers both locally and in international fora. She sits at the Editorial Board of reputable international journals. She recently published a book titled: Female academics’ Career Growth and Leadership position, available at online bookstores and ebay.
She has initiated some programmes targeted at developing leadership skills and educational empowerment of the girl-child in some secondary schools in Ibadan Metropolis, namely Methodist High School, Bodija and St. Louis Girls Grammar School, Mokola. She also coordinates Summer Reading Club for children, to promote literacy and healthy reading habits.
Adepeju is twice recipient of the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) grant for Thesis Writing and National Working Group respectively. She is passionate about gender issues as they affect day to day lives of women, girls and other minority groups. Her research focus include: Gender and Leadership, Education, Violence, Organisational Climate and Micro politics.
